I find hoods are essential on kids clothes. Hats just don't seem to stay on for very long or I forget to take them...
The 'fold over' hood makes it really easy to put on and off and still isn't too wide around the neck. And its faster to sew than these or these.
I am always nervous when working on a new pattern because chances are it won't turn out the way I want it to. But when it actually does, it's fantastic.

These are great. I want one (or two for myself!)
I know what you mean about the pattern. I am starting to feel more and more scared about that since lately I haven't been so lucky with that. Yet that pushes me to making my own patterns, which is quite nice: )
I love that fold over hoodie style - it looks great and very practical! (in a keep on kind of way) Actually to be honest... I pretty much love everything you sew for your daughter ....and look forward to seeing what else comes off your sewing machine this week :) Fiona.
I just stumbled across your blog via the Elsie Marley flickr group and wanted to say how much I love everything you've made! Do you sew your own designs, and if so, do you sell them anywhere? Cheers!
Here via Flickr...
What a great design for that hoodie! I love the colors of fabric you have used, too. Wonderful job on the design and sewing. :)
i really love the fabric you chose also.
also here via elsie marley--i love this hoodie and the colors are perfect! is there a pattern you followed or did you draft it yourself?
I love this hoodie as well. I would love to know what pattern you used.
@cateoh. Thank you so much for the compliment. Yes, these are all my designs. I do have an Etsy shop, but it is currently deserted - I am sewing too much for my kids, their friends and people who just e-mail me with an order.
i know the feeling! my etsy shop is currently deserted, too--it often feels that i have to choose between sewing for my family or sewing for the shop!
Thank you all for your sweet comments. I am afraid I created this all myself - design and pattern, so now I unfortunately can't give you a like to a pattern.
sorry, I meant link to pattern.
But I would definitely buy your pattern if it was available! Or even better, a whole magazine of your patterns. I've given up on most of the blogs I read lately but I really love yours - you have amazing style.
I too would love to be able to purchase your patterns! Just something else to add to your "someday" list:) Thanks for sharing your beautiful creations!
I really like hoodies! I like the buttons on this one. Great design.
Wauw, love all of it! It's all so cute? I read you don't have a link, do you send copies of your patterns by mail? Like a swap or something (I send you a present in return...)
wow this is indeed fantastic! love this hood. if only I knew how to, i would make one for myself!
very very very beautiful.
Oh yes, go and sell your patterns! ;-)
I have to say I really love the colours you put your girls in. Its so refreshing to see cute girls clothes that aren't all pink.
Whenever (if) you ever put your patterns in your etsy shop can you leave us a link? Would be fabulous!
