Tie-dyed T-Shirt

She tie-dyed this T-Shirt herself at summer camp. And she also made the necklace there. The bracelets we made at home this weekend (following this nice tutorial). Tomorrow we have to make another one for her ankle, she's decided.

I like the fact that in this day and age she thinks of making something she likes. Buying it doesn't occur to her yet. As if everyone made their own clothes and jewellery.

Imagine ;)

that would be amazing, a bit like going back in time but with all the choices of today. the tie-dye shirt look great. with a mum like you no wonder she's like that!

Something my daughter said or asked to me in the past, also made me think that she thought everything was made by us... anyway... Beautiful necklace, I now want to buy some beads like those and make my daughters and myself one like that ;)

Your daughter is talented too, nice shirt and necklace. My kids (6 and 3) look at toy catalogs and ask me to make them toys or they ask me to make costumes or sometimes specific clothes (pink and sparkly for the little one :-( but I didn't totally give in yet). They rarely ask me to buy things...I hope it will last.

my kids are the same way. they see something and if they like it, their first thought is they can't make it, then mommy and daddy can! i hope this phase lasts a very very long time! teri@giddy...

Oh yes! your daughter rocks! And she is definately your daughter :)

And how much more would things be appreciated if they really would be made self, by hand by someone... I love the idea of less stuff. Just things that matter.

Thank you so much for your comments. I am not alone. I am sure that at some point all she'll want is buy the things here friends have. Which is why I am enjoying the 'let's make it' even more now. I'll try to prolong this phase as much as possible.

Imagine if she thought like that for many years to come, it would be great!
I am sure you can prolong it for a long time especially as you make all these amazingly beautiful clothes for your kids.
