As it turns out, the knee patches were only a short term fix.
Not surprising, really. She only seems to be standing still if I ask her very nicely (and if she can wear her Princess T-hirt). Otherwise she's on the move - running, rollerblading, cycling. So some collateral damage is to be expected.
I made these drafting a pattern from some leggings she's got. But you could follow this tutorial. It's for making baby tights, but with some minor tweaks it's the same for these leggings.
Now, how quickly can I make another 5 of these?

Oh wow! I would wear these. Cool!
Love the pixilated pattern. Girly, but not silly.
That fabric is awesome! Legging are a definite must have for a Princess. ;)
Cute and pretty pictures. Now set up an assembly line for the next five pairs. I'd love to see the pretty pile. It is so exciting to see other people choosing colours and patterns.
mola!!
Thank you.
@ Cirque du Bebe. I would wear them, too.
@Kristin/ Lepäävä Esteetikko - I'm in love with this fabric. It was a left over piece from some fabric maker in Italy. I only had a tiny bit.
Great fabric, it's ridiculously difficult to find good knit fabrics here, think I might have to look online. Your girl is getting so big!
@Jo. I can imagine how frustrating it must be if you have a certain type of fabric in mind and just can't find it. Are there any outlet type places around?
I'd already seen the baby tights tutorial but hadn't thought about adjusting it to fit my big girls. Thank you for the suggestion!
Wow, I love the fabric! Where did you get it from?
@Sky Turtle. I bought it at the Encantes. One of the stalls had a lot of left over pieces from Italy and this fabric was one of them - not even 1 m.
Que tela más bonita!!
Me encantaría hacerme unos leggins para mi!
Bon cap de setmana!
I like them. I do ;)
