Which is why by the end of KCWC my kids have new summer clothes and a very tired mother.
But this skirt really does take no more than 1 hour.
+ Take hip to knee measurement (here: 36cm)
+ add seam allowance for sewing in elastic waistband (here: 6cm)
+ add seam allowance for bottom seam (here: 4cm)
+ cut rectangle of 140cm x 46cm
+ sew
+ done!
You probably think 140cm is a lot of fabric, but she wants her skirts to really 'fly'. If it doesn't 'fly' it's not a proper skirt. It's the first thing she checks when she tries one on. So they have to be big.

gotta love those instant gratification sewing projects ~ such lovely fabric !!
I think this is the perfect fabric for this style of skirt. pretty, and not pink!
how much has she grown since last KCWC!! she looks funny and beutiful!!
@ nest full of eggs. You are right. So I try to teach them to be patient and then I go for the instant gratification project myself ;)
Great skirt and pictures!
Love the complete outfit!
Love the fabric... and I hear ya on the sewing, I too have to pack away for the next day or dinner, if I'm good! lol. And I love a nice full skirt :)
Es muy bonita. Me encanta la tela.
that fabric makes the look even more polished and fun! great find!
Lovely skirt, and my little girl's the same - if it doesn't twirl it's just not right ;-)
love this skirt and love your daughters 'requirements' too!
very sweet. Having boys i don't often linger on the girly clothing but this is very sweet and now that i have a wee niece i'd like to get started with something simple and 1 hour projects are very appealing to me. i wonder if you can recommend a rectangle measurement for 12mos/2yrs?
@ Ella. Sorry for not responding sooner to your question. Is there any way you can take her hip to knee measurement? I would probably go for somthin ike 100cmm x 36cm.
