As sure as after winter comes spring we are back to our daily discussions on whether it is warm enough ...
1) to wear "X" (insert whatever extremely light and short item of clothing)
2) to not wear "Y" (insert whatever sensible item of clothing for temperatures below 30ºC)
Finally, my daily mantra 'It is too cold. You'll get a cold and then you have to stay in bed' is showing some effect. I have managed to establish some compromise (jackets on, but zipper closed only half way up). And now this. The sun is strong enough to burn their little pale noses. They have to wear a sun cap. But the jacket has to stay on!
I based the pattern on a Che Guevara style cap. To my surprise, even easier to make than last year's.

These are so great, would love to try them one day & I love the pictures on your blog! Marieke
These are so cute - and look, they're pink! I'm sure they'll get a lot of use. :D
@Marieke. Do try them. They are really easy to make. I was playing with the idea of making a little tutorial, if I've got time.
@Kristin. Oh, they'll get lots of use. Summers here are really, really hot.
These are cute and stylish. I'd definitely make some if you do a tutorial. I might need to add a chin strap to get my youngest to keep it on for more than a minute though.
I remember I was allowed to go out without a jacket when it was more than 15 degrees outside. 20 meant I could wear skirts or shorts without tights. :D
I really like the hats!
My little guy is pretty adverse to outerwear of any description. Thank goodness we live in a mild climate!
These hats are GREAT. I really want to make one! (So if you want to do a tutorial, I won't complain.)
Also, I think that is the first time I have seen Che Guevara referenced on fashion/sewing matters on a blog. That is awesome. Thank you.
Que chulas las gorras!! Ojalá tengas tiempo de hacer un tutorial (no pressure!). Me encanta la foto del abrazo!!
@Sky Turtle. How funny. I think I might need rules like that and a thermometer.
@Inder-ific. I am not actually sure they are called Che Guevara pas, but I always seem to asociate them with him.
@Neus.Muchas gracias. Me gusta el 'no pressure' :)
I would like to do those kind of cool caps for my kids too! Please make a tutorial!
@Henni. I'll certianly try. I hope I get to make it soon.
I would make them as well...three of them!
